Not much is known about Elijah Goldberg He lived and died in Russia, though was not necessarily born there. His profession is listed on his son's marriage certificate as a 'general trader'.
	Isaac Goldberg > Gilbert Below are the 8 children of Isaac and Nora Gilbert:	Isaac was born in 1865 in Kovno Gabernia (Kovno Governorate - Russian name or Kauno gubernija in Lithuania as it was then), a principal administrative subdivision of the Russian Empire. It seems to have been cut fom the Western part of Vilna Governorate in 1843. The family name was apparently Giller (to 'hide' the Jewish Goldberg?) He escaped from the Tsar's army in 1881, finally ending up in Leeds, England where at the age of 25 he married Leonora ('Nora') Crown. He worked as a tailor at Cohn and Wilkes, Manchester. Eventually all the family moved to the U.S., all taking the name of Gilbert. Isaac died in 1928 of unknown causes in San Francisco. married her cousin Joseph Crown (1889-1968) Their son Mervyn died at the age of four. Their daughter Fay, b. 1930, married Hyman Klein (1910-1992) and has a son Michael, b. 1969. Fay lives in Arizona.	married Beatrice Shatz They had two children, Marjorie (d. 2013) and Bruce Gilbert (married Mirna and later Roberta). Marjorie married David Karp (b. 1917, d. 2015). Their children are Larry Karp, b. 1948, married to Francy Kaplan, 2 children: Howard, b. 1976 and Sherri b. 1978. Rick Karp, b. 1951, married Janet Goheen. Their children are Adrianna, b. 1985 and David b. 1988	married Iva Zablonsky. (d. July, 2000) Their son David, b.1936, married Carol Birnbaum. They have one daughter, Valerie, b. 1963.	After coming to America it was said Jack went to Hollywood. No one in the family knows any more about him.		Reuben's first wife, Lydia Schatz died after giving birth to their daughter Donna in 1936. Donna married Larry Campbell (d. 2009). She lived in Pacifica, CA for many years, eventually retiring and moving to Placerville, CA. They produced 2 sons and a daughter: Larry b.1958, married Paula Rayo, children: Dana, 1988, Sean, 1992 and Lindsay, 1994. Larry succumbed to a brain tumor on June 16, 2009. Michael, 1959, divorced from Dena Sale, has two daughters, Shelby, 1991 and Melanie, 1993. Michael died in Placerville, CA in February 2025 Kimberly, 1961 lives in Seattle with her husband Ryan Hamilton. They have two children: daughter Perry, b. 1996 and son Lee, b. 1998. In 1939 Reuben married Ruth DeLue. Their daughter, Joyce (now Jessica) was born in 1943. Jess's daughter Caren, 1963, has two sons, Adrian, 1987 and Jeremy, 1992.	married Ethel Bloom lived in San Mateo, California. Their son Victor, 1941 (d. 2019), lived in San Francisco. Their daughter Judie was married to Bob Rief (now divorced) and has two children, Debbie, 1969 and Brian, 1972\.	Herman and his first wife, Lena Samuels had son Norman, 1948 who married Sandra Shaffer. They have two children, Dana, 1976 and Lisa, 1979. Herman later married Estelle Levine. They lived in Chicago.
