Back to Abstracts and prepping for my Art Season (!)

Since my last post I did several abstract pieces, but only one this month – in the beginning of this apocolytic wildfire time, this one got born. I call it Combustion (click for full image).

An other exciting event that kept me away from my art supplies was getting inviting to participate in the second show at the reopened Live Worms Gallery in North Beach. For those unfamiliar, Live Worms (once upon a time a hardware store with a live worm tank for local fishermen) has been a well-loved gathering space for artsy types for many years. Here’s a glimpse of opening day.  I have 6 of my Mixed Media pieces there and there are 11 more artists showing.  Certainly worth visiting if you’re so inclinded.  Opening hours are Tuesday 3-6 and Wednesday through Sunday 1 – 6.  It’s at 1345 Grant Avenue, and I’ll be there on and off so let me know if you’d like to meet there.

Several Pieces in Edge of Frame Gallery

Currently have 8 pieces in a group show at the Edge of Frame Gallery in San Francisco’s Western Addition. The show is running until February 1, weekends (when I’m here) and some weekdays if the owner is in or by appointment (contact me!) Here’s what’s there of mine (click images for full view):

What a fun Party it was…

Friday the 13th came and went and with it 50 or so people popped into my Music Art reception at Nick’s On Grand, 223 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco. They looked, sipped, mingled, stayed for dinner, sat in with the band, and seemed to be having as good a time as I did. The artwork will be up for a couple more months, so if you didn’t make it, you still can. Restaurant hours are 11 – 8pm and my work is in all 3 areas, so start looking when you enter the front door.

Here are a few shots of the reception:

My Music Art is now in South San Francisco

The show went up yesterday – all the Chameleon Jazz pictures plus another 15 or so of my music artworks.

If you go very, very soon, you will probably find the film still covering the Chameleon pictures since the spackling isn’t done yet. Thank you to Nick’s On Grand owner, Kenny Annis for doing the hard work, and to mi querida amiga Frieda for helping make sure it was all evenly spaced.

RECEPTION IS FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13 from 6pm. Jazz in the Patio from 7 provided by Steve Nelson and his quartet.

10th Solo Show at the Bay View Boat Club is up

I hung my MORROCO SHOW today and this poor photo (way too much morning glare) might entice you to come to the reception on Tuesday, June 18 from 6 – 8pm with live jazz from 7 until 10-ish.

Of course at the Reception I will have bins with matted prints and note cards beyond Morocco.

Getting it out there now! Please come to my Solo Show Reception on June 18. A whole lot of my Morocco pieces will be on display plus a bin or two of others including from my recent trip to Paris. If you want to come another time, get in touch and I will meet you there. It’s at a private club, so all guests must be sponsored… Here’s the PR:

Open Studio 2018

Just before Thanksgiving I had my 3rd annual Open Studio in my little apartment. Steady trickle of people from the vaious tenticles of my life. Met some new neighbors and sold a fair amount of prints and small framed pieces. Fun way to start the holiday season.
