Angles & Curves
I have two pieces in this show. Above is cleverly named State of Illinois Building since it is one of the photographs I took of the interior of the State of Illinois Building in Chicago. I love this building and hope to take a lot more shots of it when I'm there in July. But I digress. It's framed in black with a thick white mat and measures 28 x 22" fully clothed. My other piece is called Up and Up, since I took it looking up from the roof (or one of the roofs) of the Walt Disney Concert Center in Los Angeles in April. It is similarly framed at 22 x 28" and you can see a small version of it on the left. I believe I mentioned last month how blown away I was with the architecture in Los Angeles, so expect to see more views of this building, either in this newsletter's future editions or on my website - or on a wall somewhere....
It's really much better to see these pieces full sized though, so I hope you will consider coming to the reception on Thursday. There are more than 40 other renditions of Angles & Curves so it's sure to be an interesting show.
The Reception is Thursday, June 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the SFWA Gallery, 3489 Sacramento Street @ Laurel. I'll be there and hope to see you.
Nice Show at the Bay View
My show at the boat club in May was such a fun show since I got to make all my own decisions about what to hang, where to hang it and who to invite! It was well received and seen by many during the month, but like all good things, it did have to come to an end. I pulled it down today to make way for the June artist. Thanks to all of you who helped make it a success.
New Works
A few more from Los Angeles plus a mandolin seen 'laying around'. Such a lovely looking instrument, I had to explore it through my lens. For those really curious, I've finally put my L.A. photographs into an album which you can look at here.
